Taís Araújo

Taís Araújo is an Afro-Brazilian actress, model, and TV show host. She was the first Black actress from Brazil to play the lead role in a telenovela, Xica da Silva. She defied expectations at a period when black performers were usually limited to supporting parts or maid roles. After publishing pictures of her natural hair on social media, she experienced online hostility. Taís Araújo was born prematurely on November 25, 1978, in Rio de Janeiro. Her parents are Ademir de Araújo and Mercedes de Araújo. At the age of 13, she auditioned for an ice cream commercial, but the producers said to her "they didn't want black girls in their commercial".

Her first notable performance was as the lead character in Walcyr Carrasco's Brazilian novel "Xica da Silva" on Reed Mancchete. In 2004, Taís Araújo makes a memorable performance as a mother, Preta, starring in Da Cor de Pecado, also known as Shades of Sin including innumerable crying scenes. In Viver a Vida, she plays Helena, a renowned international model at the peak of her career. She takes the decision to wed businessman Marcos, who also happens to be Tereza's ex-husband, a lady who is still adjusting to their thirty-year marriage ending. This decision changes her life. One of the most memorable moments in this show is Helena's runway walk. Taís Araújo played a role as Ellen in this 2006 series, Cobras & Lagartos. This was the second film she starred in alongside Lázaro Ramos. This series was directed by João Emanuel Carneiro, featuring a mix of humor, romance, and drama. The three main characters in this telenovel are Taís Araújo, who plays Maria de Penha, Leandra Leal, who plays Maria do Rosário, and Isabella Drummond, who plays as Maria Aparecida. In this show, after spending a night in jail, they make a pact to improve their lives.

Also in 2004, Taís Araújo and Lázaro Ramos began their journey as lovers. There journey began while starring in Da Cor de Pecado together. Taís Araújo played the role of Preta, and Lázaro Ramos played another significant role. After 4 years, between co-starring and dating, Taís Araújo and Lázaro Ramos finally joined in Marriage. João Vicente de Araújo Ramos is the first-born child of Taís Araújo and Lázaro Ramos. They actually named him after the director, João Emanuel Carneiro, of the second series they playing in together Cobras & Lagartos. Her second-born child is Maria Antônia. Before she was born, Taís Araújo took some time off and said she wouldn't return back to TV until afterwards.
