The Life of ME

Who would have thought my family would go to Disney World and leave without me being able to see Mickey and all of the gang? Well, I wasn't about to let them leave me out of the vacation. On the 29 of September, my mom thought she was packing to go home. NOT! Well, I wanted to see Florida and I didn't feel like waiting until next year, so by some strange occurrence, my mom's water broke. DID I DO THAAAT?? My dad got the phone book and went to work on finding the closest hospital. The hospital in Celebration was the closest, so we went there. When we got there the nurses examined my mom and confirmed that her water had broken. The only problem was that I was two months early. They immediately told her that they were going to transfer her to another hospital because they didn't have the facility for her to deliver me there. So, in the ambulance and off to Florida Hospital South Orlando we go. My siblings, Manny and Chyna and my dad followed us over to the hospital. Once we got there, more examinations and then my mom really got stressed because they told her that they wanted to admit her and if I wasn't here within the next three weeks, they would have to do a C-section. My mom had already escaped one surgery and didn't want to face another one. They gave her some medication so that my lungs would strengthen and put her in the high-risk section of the maternity ward. My dad took my brother and sister to the Ronal McDonald House. Enough waiting!!! At around 11:30 pm I decided to blow some dust off of Diana Ross's career and le the whole world know "I'm Coming Out!" My mom called the nurses, and they did everything they could do to keep her from pushing. They tried to call my dad, but he was getting his 40 winks and lost count at 30 so he had to start over and missed the call. Meanwhile, at around 12:50 am in runs the doctor. I was ready to come out and my mom only had to push three times and there I was.

My cousin, Wilynn helped my mom come up with my first name. My dad has two other daughters besides me and Chyna. Their names are Autumn and Brittany. So, what they did was take the A and U from Autumn's name and the B, R, and I from Brittany's name and came up with Aubri. All of my grandma's granddaughters have names that begin with the letter D, so that's where my middle name, D'Sha comes in. When I was born, I weighed 3 pounds 9 ounces. Once I did my traditional newborn infant weight drop, I went down to 3 pounds 6 ounces. They didn't have to put me on a respirator, they didn't have to tape my eyes shut, I was only on I.V. fluids for maybe 5 days. Before I was two weeks old, I went from the isolette into a Big Girl bassinette. My next step was getting rid of this feeding tube and start bottle feeding. I've pulled my feeding tube out at least 3 times. They gave me one bottle a day to get me used to feeding and swallowing without choking. The first day they gave me a bottle, I drank 19 out of 31 ml in 1/2 hour. I couldn't head back to New Jersey until I hit the 1-month mark.
